Espiritu Santo, Sanma Province, Vanuatu
Slowly as the leaves change colour and the weather begins to get colder, I delve into my archives of photos, exploring the memories of warmth and summer to take my mind off the harsh bitter reality of Canberra’s winter.
This selection is one of my first photographic journeys, in the midst of studying my first year of photography learning how correctly operate a camera. I set off with my 50mm for my fresh new adventure to Vanuatu! This being my first time to the pacific islands I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, all I knew was it was going to be good.
The most profound thing I learnt on the trip was lighting! Every country has different lighting, even the colour balance.

It is interesting how our preferences change, from how I used to shoot to how I do now is remarkable. If I were to go back, I would have shot my whole time completely differently. But that’s life, moving on a developing and becoming a better photographer! It is good to reminisce from where you came from!
